NBA analyst Nick Young reckons young Bronny James has a chance of joining the Los Angeles Lakers as long as LeBron is with the team. The veteran was recently given a two-year contract extension for $97.1 million recently, which has been the talk of the town in the NBA.
The upcoming season will be the 20th for LeBron James as he is still at the top of his fitness. Bronny James, on the other hand, is rising through the ranks and has impressed with his skills.
Young wants Bronny to join USC Trojans as his university and feels it will be convenient for him.
Young said in an interview with TMZ Sports, “USC, for sure. Back home, I went there,” Young said. “‘Swaggy Bronny,’ he could be little ‘Swaggy Bronny.’ Plus it’s in LA, it’s in California. Why leave when you already out here comfortable?”
“Dad’s here. Dad can come, watch you play. Mom can come, watch you play.”
“As long as LeBron’s there, he got a future,” Young said.
On the other hand, LeBron James had earlier said that he would want to play his last season in the NBA with his son, Bronny.
“I have a goal that, if it’s possible — I don’t even know if it’s possible — that if I can play with my son, I would love to do that,” said James in the previous season.
“Is that, like, something that any man shouldn’t want that in life? That’s like the coolest thing that could possibly happen. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to be with this franchise.”
Meanwhile, James was in stellar form in the previous season as he averaged 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists in 56 games in 2021-22. He was also selected to play in his eighteenth All-Star games.
