Renowned NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith has made a bold statement that the Brooklyn Nets need to get rid of Kyrie Irving. Irving is reluctant to get vaccinated and the Nets have made it clear that they won’t let any player participate with part-time availability.
The statement, written out by General Manager Sean Marks, said, “We will not permit any member of our team to participate with part-time availability.”
This statement by Brooklyn Nets has made it crystal clear that Kyrie Irving will need to get vaccinated for Covid-19 to be available for selection. If he doesn’t get inoculated, he may have to sit out for the rest of the season. However, Irving said that it is his choice to get vaccinated or not and he will do what he thinks is best for him.
Smith said on First Take, “The Brooklyn Nets need to get rid of Kyrie Irving. He got to go! He is just a problem.”
“They would give his ass away for a box of cookies if they could. They are so disgusted with this dude.”
Smith added that not many teams will be interested in trading Kyrie Irving as they will know that he could be trouble.
“This brother when he says he might retire if he gets traded… We all know he might, he’s that kind of dude. As a result, you have teams that don’t want to trade for him.”
Meanwhile, Brooklyn Nets will begin the season as one of the favorites and Kyrie Irving could play a major role if he decides to play and show his proof for vaccination. In fact, it is believed that Irving could reconsider his decision to not get vaccinated when he would start paying fines for missing matches.
The Nets will begin their NBA 2021-22 season against Milwaukee Bucks on October 20 (5 AM IST).
