Brooklyn Nets talisman Kevin Durant not happy with his scoring despite triple double in win against Indiana Pacers

Kevin Durant has been firing on all cylinders this season. Durantula has been the third in average scoring this season as he averaged 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game in 55 games. He has had two better scoring average seasons in his career but he was influential enough to guide the Brooklyn Nets to the play-in tournament from where they will be able to get to the playoffs if they beat the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Despite his impressive scoring average, Durant was not happy with the last game of the regular season The Brooklyn Nets took down the Indian Pacers 134-126 in the last game of their season on Sunday. Durant recorded a 20 point triple-double, registering 20 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high 16 assists.  Despite the triple double performances, Durant had his worst shooting night in the entirety of this season. Durant shot 5-for-17, including 0-of-6 from 3-point range.

Reacting to the game, Durant was disappointed with himself. The forward is convinced that the reason for his failure was his wrong approach to scoring. He shares how late starts will hamper them in future even if they capitalize later on in the game.

“Yeah, that just sucked. I just had the wrong approach to scoring tonight,” Durant said. “I just hate how I approached it. I was glad I could make a few later on. But I don’t wanna go 0-6, 0-7 in the starting,” the 33-year-old power forward opined after the Brooklyn Nets won against the Indian Pacers with him dropping a triple double.

The Brooklyn Nets finished seventh in the Western Conference with a record of 44-38. In their last regular season game against the Indian Pacers, Kyrie Irving led the charge in offence with 35 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Kevin Durant also had a great game as he finished with a triple double despite his shooting woes. For the Pacers, Oshae Brissett was the top scorer with 28 points and Buddy Hield was good too with 21 points and six assists. Pacers youngster Tyrese Haliburton dropped in 17 points in a double double as he came up with 10 assists.

The Brooklyn Nets will now play against the shorthanded Cleveland Cavaliers in the play-in tournament and a win will allow them to enter the playoffs where they will go up against the Boston Celtics in the first round.
