Chris Paul gives us an element and change of speed – Steph Curry

    July 26, 2023

Golden State Warriors talisman Steph Curry feels Chris Paul will add value to the squad. Curry said the veteran will give them an element and change of speed they need to be a title contender. The Dubs lost the West Conference semifinals against Los Angeles Lakers by 4-2 in the previous season of the NBA.

Paul, renownedly known as CP3, will play as a point guard and will look to deliver the goods for the Dubs. Paul, 38, will bring a lot of experience to the table and will impact their chances of going all the way. Recently, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr expressed optimism that Paul’s trade is going to work out for them.

Paul averaged 13.9 ppg, 4.3 rebounds and 8.9 assists in the 2022-23 season for the Phoenix Suns

Steph Curry said on the Ringer’s Real One’s podcast with Logan Murdock and Raja Bell, “For CP, I think he gives us an element and change of speed that we needed even in the Lakers series,” Curry said.

“Because it started to become kind of just motion offense and jacking up 3s. And we were trying to figure out some more pick-and-roll situations; we were trying to find some more ways to find offense at half-court.”

Meanwhile, Curry feels they have seven players who could argue they should start in the playing five and it goes to show their bench strength.

“We’re trying to maximize the great years that we have left because we know that there’s a timeline to this and what it looks like shouldn’t matter,” Curry said.

“We know that there’s, you could argue, seven guys that could argue they should start. There are seven guys who argue they should finish games. And do the math, there’s two people that are outside of that equation.” (h/t NBC Sports Bay Area)

Curry averaged 29.7 in the 2022-23 season for Golden State Warriors. He also averaged 6.1 rebounds and 6.3 assists in the previous season of the league.
