“Draymond turned NBA into WWE,” Skip Bayless bashes Draymond Green while reacting to his incident with Rudy Gobert

    November 18, 2023

Golden State Warriors superstar Draymond Green has received a five-game ban from the NBA following his violence against Rudy Gobert when they faced the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. Since then Green has been the talk of the town for the NBA news pages and experts have had their say on his improper conduct.

Recently Skip Bayless also became the latest analyst to speak on Green’s actions on the other night against Gobert. However, Bayless went overboard with his take on Green and his antics because it is not something that he has done for the first time.

The Warriors’ big man came out of nowhere in a fight between Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels. Suddenly Gobert got involved and looking at the Frenchman, Green also jumped in and headlocked Gobert and dragged him out of the scuffle. Notably, Gobert and Green have a long-time beef.

While Stephen A Smith believed that people overreacted to Green’s antics. Bayless disagreed and felt that Green crossed the line. “Draymond turned the NBA into WWE,” Bayless said. He also criticized Green calling him a diva player who is always on the lookout for attention.

“Draymond is a look-at-me player. He has his podcast, which is successful. He has a job waiting for him at TNT. He is a look-at-me guy,” Bayless said, “When he acts out, he overacts.”

Bayless felt that Green’s history of his on-court antics played a big role in him getting a five-game ban. The NBA Analyst feels that five games is a lengthy ban, something that could affect the Warriors dearly. He rather suggested a two-game suspension was enough.

“It is mostly due to his long history of unsportsmanlike acts. We get that,” Bayless said.

This is Green’s fifth suspension in his NBA career. He served a one-game suspension in the first round of the playoffs last season. He was also penalized after stomping on Domantas Sabonis’ chest during a game. The big man also got suspended in the 2016 finals. He was pulled out after hitting LeBron James in the groin. It affected the Warriors as they blew out a 3-1 lead and lost the final to LeBron’s men.

Green will be eligible to return on November 29 when the Warriors will face the Sacramento Kings.
