    James Harden Philadelphia 76ers

ESPN writer Brian Windhorst criticizes James Harden for never taking the blame on himself for his franchise’s failure

    April 15, 2022

Philadelphia 76ers traded for James Harden recently from the Brooklyn Nets. But there has been massive criticism for the Beard for not only his recent struggles but also for the way he moved out of the Brooklyn Nets to join the Sixers.

Harden has joined hands with another NBA superstar Joel Embiid and the duo ideally looks like one of the best in the league. Hence the management and the fans expect the Sixers to win the Championship or at the very least win the Eastern Conference.

Recently on ESPN’s new morning show Get Up senior writer Brian Windhorst has spoken on how Harden has shifted the blame from him many times in the past. Windhorst shares how Harden has never faced consequences for his actions.

“Because everything James Harden has done for the last three years, he’s felt no consequences for,” Windhorst began. “I can’t even tell you how disappointing the 2019 loss to the Warriors was in the playoffs. He shrugged his shoulders and blamed Chris Paul, the Rockets fell all over themselves to ship him out. He was unhappy at Houston, quit on that team, got what he wanted – traded to Brooklyn. Unhappy at Brooklyn, wanted to be trade to Philadelphia, traded to Philadelphia.”

The Brooklyn Nets traded for James Harden as they created a team that had players like Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden. It was NBA’s new big three and people thought that they would win the Championship with relative ease.

However their season derailed in the postseason as Kyrie Irving got injured, Harden was suffering from hamstring issues and mostly struggled. So it was not easy for Kevin Durant alone to fight with some of the top teams as they lost out to the eventual champions, Milwaukee Bucks.

Things started turning bitter when Kyrie Irving was deemed ineligible to play in the home games due to the Covid-19 vaccination mandate in Brooklyn. Later even Kevin Durant went down with a knee injury and Harden was the only man holding the fort for the Nets. It was around this time he questioned his future at the franchise. He was not convinced and hence he decided to shift away from Brooklyn and joined the Sixers. Harden is already 33 years old and feels that joining the Sixers will take him closer to winning the Championship.
