Former Los Angeles Clippers guard Jamal Crawford speaks very highly of Phoenix Suns duo of Chris Paul and Devin Booker

 

It has been a great underdog story for the Phoenix Suns to reach the NBA finals as they take on the Milwaukee Bucks. Monty Williams’ and his men defeated the Los Angeles Clippers to become the Western Conference Champions. The success and the glory was directly proportional to Devin Booker and Chris Paul’s influence on the court.

This year’s NBA saw several exceptional duos and trios in many franchises. But CP3 and D Book were just class apart from the rest. Their combination stood out as Booker brought youthful exuberance to the team coupled with Paul’s maturity and leadership, which led the Suns to greatness this season. The duo averaged 45 points this postseason.

Paul’s arrival at the franchise immediately motivated the entire Suns’ roster. He boosted them and made them believe that they belong to this level. He also got a player in Devin Booker who is as driven as CP3. Hence the duo have combined brilliantly to break down top teams. Former Los Angeles Clippers Jamal Crawford has approved of the combination for the Suns.

According to Azcentral, the 3-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year wrote in a direct Twitter message, “Before you even get to their skill sets, the love of the game from both of them would keep them connected. Then on the court, they are both DOGS!!!”

Crawford has spent time with both the players during his playing career. He shared the dressing room with Chris Paul during his time at Los Angeles Clippers. He spent the 2018/19 season with Devin Booker. Hence he knows what goes on in their mind while combining and guiding the Suns forward.

“I think CP is best when controlling the show, but he also is great when he has go-getters with him because that allows him to pick his spots even more flawlessly. And with Book, he is a natural assassin, but he is an underrated playmaker.”

“They are both closers to end the game. Teams are lucky to have one closer,” Crawford further added. “They have two.”

This season will go down the history books for Chris Paul who is nearing his career’s twilight. This season also saw Devin Booker emerge as a superstar and a face of the NBA in the coming years.
