Kevin Durant is undoubtedly one of the most charismatic players in the NBA. He is always on the news, it can be because of his singlehanded fight against the Milwaukee Bucks. It can also be a Twitter fight between him and Scottie Pippen. Also, it can be because of a comparison between him and Michael Jordan.
KD is simply one of the best when he is on the court and this is something that even his opponents believe. Former Los Angeles Clippers star Lou Williams shared how he would like KD in their team. Durant’s aggression and determination to fight for the Nets in the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Bucks have gathered a lot of respect. Despite the loss, KD fans were adamant that he should get his respect. But someway or the other KD is always referred to as a ring chaser mainly due to his tendency to swap teams.
There is hardly any team that would not want Kevin Durant to join their ranks and the Clippers are no exception. Therefore in 2019, Williams was absolutely sure that Durantula was joining the Clippers. He felt that Durant was the player who could get the Clippers a title. Lou Williams revealed in “No Chill With Gilbert Arenas’, “We thought KD was going to give us what we needed, how we played.”
Williams came out in full support of KD against the people who think that he has not worked hard to win Championship rings. “It’s an opportunity for guys like him to put another notch on the belt. There hasn’t been a championship in LA, as far as the Clippers go. You got guys that can come in and create their own, especially KD. Where everybody’s like, ‘Oh, he went there to get the rings. F*** that! Those are his rings,” said Williams without holding back.
Williams currently plies his trade for the Atlanta Hawks even shared how he felt that Durant was a player totally made for the Clippers. He felt that it was an opportunity for KD to join the Clippers and guide them to the Championship and prove his doubters wrong.
“The great thing about our team is, we’re not confused about who any of us are. Everybody understands it’s a pecking order. So, if KD came in, it’s no pushback. Like bro, this is your team, we are riding and everyone will play their part perfectly. So I thought he was going to be the person that could fit in seamlessly,” Williams concluded.
The Hawks guard currently is in action in the Eastern Conference Finals where they lost Game 3 against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Hawks after taking Game 1 have lost consecutive matches to trail 1-2 in the Series.
