Golden State Warriors star Andre Iguodala feels people want to monetize from Steph Curry’s record breaking moment

    December 13, 2021

Records in the NBA or in any sports general are meant to be broken. Recently we saw Russell Westbrook pull off a fantastic feat by surpassing the legendary Oscar Robertson. Golden State Warriors talisman Stephen Curry is also on the verge of breaking a great record and finally being crowned as the king of three-pointers.

Curry is only seven three-pointers away from surpassing the legendary Ray Allen. However his teammate Andrew Iguodala calls out the fans and tells them not to monetize the moment and wait for it patiently.

The Baby Faced Assasin is currently running away with the MVP title this season owing to his exceptional performances. The Golden State Warriors are also flying high in the Eastern Conference. The Dubs are second in the Eastern Conference only behind the Phoenix Suns with a record of 21-5.

He is currently a big night away from surpassing Ray Allen and achieving the legendary feat. However, Curry is certainly feeling the pressure of the fans as they want him to do it as quickly as possible.

While speaking on the record, Iguodala highlighted how people are trying to monetize the record. Curry once pointed how he has seen more than 16 three-pointers go in on a single night. Since then the analysts have pushed the Chef to achieve the record as early as possible. Iguodala feels that the new age basketball fans needs to leave Curry alone. They should allow him to have his own moment whenever it happens rather than trying to make money out of it.

“Everyone’s trying to capitalize off the moment and it’s taking away from his moment you know what I mean. You gotta do it tonight, so we can record it and monetize it. It’s just kind of the new age of basketball phase we are in right now. So you know, it will happen, its just let it happen when it’s supposed to, not rush it or not forcing it,” Iguodala said.

The Warriors were handed their fifth defeat of the season to the Philadelphia 76ers. They lost the match 102-93 as Curry registered only 18 points, lower than his teammates Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins who scored 23 and 20 points respectively. Sixers talisman Joel Embiid finished the night with 26 points and was instrumental in guiding his team to victory.
