Golden State Warriors superstar Draymond Green believes that Chris Paul will be very crucial for the team and will help the youngsters develop far more rapidly. He feels that the superstar point guard will be a massive piece in the jigsaw for the Warriors heading into the new season.
Green highlighted how Chris Paul can be the player to unlock the Warriors’ offense and can also add another dimension to the team. He pointed out how Deandre Ayton’s gameplay improved a lot ever since Chris Paul joined Phoenix Suns. However Green also took a dig at Ayton while he was praising Paul.
The big man also praised Paul’s mentoring skills highlighting Ayton’s transformation in Phoenix.Ayton was heavily criticised by everyone but finally found his stride when Chris Paul joined the Phoenix Suns. Green was very much in awe of the influence that Paul had in that Suns unit.
“Chris Paul will completely unlock Jonathan Kuminga and his growth. CP is great with young guys. Deandre Ayton looked like a bust before CP came to Phoenix,” Green said in Paul George’s podcast.
Chris Paul’s influence on the Suns is simply outstanding as the veteran point guard took the team to the 2021 NBA finals. Although they did not win the title, they were a very fun team to watch.
Ayton was also at his best and his overall statistic under Paul’s influence showed a clear spike which means Green does have a point. The Warriors big man feels that this way, Chris Paul will surly unlock someone like Jonathan Kuminga, who is considered a huge talent by the Warriors team management.
Ayton averaged 17 points per game along with 10 rebounds when Chris Paul was also present on court.
The enitre conversation happened at Paul George’s podcast who was very intrigued to listen to Green about CP3 joining the Golden State Warriors. His arrival in exchange for Jordan Poole and a few other trade pieces has only bolstered the Warriors making them even more versatile.
The Warriors fans are very excited to see the veteran point guard in action. With Chris Paul’s abilities, one believe that Stephen Curry will be a lot more fresh and more effective especially during the business end of the season.
