He’s late for everything, then he gets punished and then he starts showing up on time: Colin Cowherd feels Lakers should trade Anthony Davis

NBA analyst Colin Cowherd reckons the LA Lakers should consider trading Anthony Davis before the start of the next season. Cowherd stated that Davis shows up late for training, then he gets punished and then he starts showing up on time but only briefly.

Davis’ fitness has always led to his downfall and his career has been hampered by a plethora of injuries, especially in the last couple of seasons. When Davis played at the top of his game for the Lakers with LeBron James, the Lakers won the 2020 NBA title but since then the story has been different.

Davis was once again perturbed by knee problems in the previous season as he could only play 40 matches for the Lakers. Furthermore, Davis finished the season shooting 18.6% from beyond the arc, and thus his performances were not up to the mark even when he played.

Colin Cowherd said on his podcast, “Anthony Davis, there’s always that guy who’s late to everything, it’s a narcissism thing that I’m more important than you. He’s late for everything, then he gets punished and then he starts showing up on time, briefly.”

Cowherd added: “But who he is is a habitually late guy. We know who Anthony Davis is.”

Cowherd added that AD is a habitually late guy.

“AD, to prove a point, is gonna have a great first half and you move him at the deadline. You know he will not, off a great year, come back next offseason in great shape. He’s a habitually late guy.”

On the other hand, Lakers head coach Darvin Ham reckons it will be crucial for the team that Davis stays at the top of his fitness if the side has to go all the way in the next season.
