He’s too big-time for our team not to have the ball in his hands – LeBron James on Anthony Davis after win against Portland Trailblazers

    December 2, 2022

Los Angeles Lakers registered a convincing win of 128-109 against the Portland Trailblazers on Wednesday night. LeBron James once again delivered for the team as he scored 31 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds.

Anthony Davis also played a key role in the team’s win as he scored 27 points and 12 rebounds. Davis was at his absolute best as he mustered 14 points in the final quarter. The Lakers scored 31 points in the fourth quarter and Davis did the lion’s share of the scoring for his team.

LeBron James was all praise for his teammate after the Lakers’ sixth win in the last eight matches.

“I think he was just himself in the fourth quarter,” James said of Davis as quoted by AP. “(Tuesday) was a tough day for us, coming off that loss, but we had a lot of conversations about how we could be better, especially in the fourth quarter, and AD is a big part of that. … He’s too big-time for our team not to have the ball in his hands.”

On the other hand, the Lakers head coach Darvin Ham heaped praise on LeBron James for delivering the goods for the team. James hit six 3-pointers while going 12 for 18 from the field in a fine performance.

“One thing about Bron, he holds himself accountable,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham said. “He’s trending individually in the right direction, and that’s key. It’s imperative.”

Meanwhile, Portland coach Chauncey Billups feels it was a challenge for his team but admitted they ‘ran out of gas’ against the Lakers.

“It’s a tall order to come in here on a back-to-back, off a very deflating loss,” Portland coach Chauncey Billups said. “This is a challenge. But the guys fought, and they played hard. They just ran out of gas.”

The Lakers will next take on Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night.
