I’d be glad if I had zero points and we won – Anthony Davis after Lakers’ win over Detroit Pistons

    November 21, 2022

Lakers’ talisman Anthony Davis stated that he’d be glad even if he had zero points and his team won after the Men in Yellow bested Detroit Pistons by 128-121 on Friday night. Davis scored 38 points and 16 rebounds while Lonnie Walker added 17 points to the team’s tally.

The big man was able to step in the absence of LeBron James, who has been out of action due to a left groin injury. This was a consecutive win for the Lakers and they have been able to achieve the same for the second time this season.

Davis has done a fine job for Darvin Ham’s team and he has surely shown his class in the last few matches.

Davis stated that the team’s success is more important to him than personal records. The linchpin had dropped 37 points against the Brooklyn Nets.

“I’d be glad if I had zero points and we won,” Davis said. “We’ve got to put a string of wins together to get back in this thing, but take it one game at a time.”

This is the first time when Davis has had the back-to-back 30-point games since last February.

“He’s been a monster this whole season, but definitely the last three games or so,” Reaves said. “That’s what he does, and everybody knows it.”

On the other hand, the Pistons have managed only two wins out of the 16 games this season.

“We’re struggling, trying to find a win,” coach Dwane Casey said. “Everybody is going to have their opportunity, so don’t count your minutes, make your minutes count.”

Meanwhile, Denis Schroder feels it is great to play in front of the fans after Covid-19 relaxation.

“It was great just playing in front of the fans,” Schröder said. “My first time (with the Lakers) was after COVID, so I didn’t get to experience our fans.”

The Lakers will next take on San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night.
