I’m pretty sure every 3 I make will be a new record – Steph Curry shares thoughts after reaching 3,000 against Denver Nuggets

    December 30, 2021

Golden State Warriors talisman Steph Curry has stated that every three he makes will be a new record after he reached the milestone of 3000 threes against the Denver Nuggets. Curry recently broke Ray Allen’s record of most threes as he scored the 2974th triple of his career against the New York Knicks.

Curry has been in sublime form in the recent past and the linchpin has been instrumental in the success of the Golden State Warriors. The 33-year old became the first NBA player to score 3000 threes in his career in Tuesday’s match against Denver Nuggets.

Curry scored 23 points against the Nuggets but his efforts went in vain as GSW lost by 89-86. The point guard has been averaging 27.7 points per game, 5.9 assists, and 5.3 rebounds in the ongoing season and he has been at his absolute best for his team.

The talisman has now scored 3004 three-pointers in the regular season of the NBA in 794 matches he has played. Curry, 33, still has a lot of fuel left in his tank and there is no doubt that it would be almost impossible to break his three-pointers record when he will hang his boots.

Curry said: “It was cool to reach that milestone. It’s a pretty awesome accomplishment. … It’s kind of a weird thought to think for the rest of my career for the most part, I’m pretty sure every 3 I make will be a new record, so I’m just going to enjoy it.”

When asked how many 3-pointers he could hit before calling it a day, Curry said: “The same thing when I hit 400 in a season, you don’t really put limits on what can happen. You just hoop and enjoy yourself and see what happens when it’s all said and done.”

Meanwhile, it is expected that Curry could end his career with more than 4000 threes in his career if he keeps going at the same rate. Curry is at the top of his fitness and he could easily play for another four to five years.

Golden State Warriors will once again play Denver Nuggets on Thursday and they will look to take their revenge.
