It was nice to get a win – Steph Curry after 115-97 victory against Charlotte Hornets

    April 2, 2024

Golden State Warriors talisman Steph Curry was delighted after their 115-97 win against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night. Curry scored 23 points, including four three-pointers in his homecoming match.

After the first half, the Warriors had a five-point lead but they were able to put the game to bed as they outscored the opposition by 39-26 in the third quarter. Curry played a key role in the third frame, scoring 12 points.

“At this stage (of my career) I can probably count on one hand how many times I get to come back here,” Curry said. “It was nice seeing a lot of familiar faces in the crowd. And, it was nice to actually get a win.”

Andrew Wiggins also played a key role in the Warriors’ win as he had 20 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists.

Furthermore, Trayce Jackson-Davis scored 18 points for the Warriors, who are in 10th place in the Western Conference standings.

“We had a similar record last year and we were the sixth seed,” Kerr said.

Jackson-Davis feels proper communication between the players, played a key role in the team’s win.

“I feel like we are starting out the game engaged on the floor and talking, and that has carried over,” Jackson-Davis said.

Miles Bridges had 22 points and nine rebounds for the Hornets but his efforts went in vain. Bridges gave credit to the opposition for being the better team on the court.

“Trayce (Jackson-Davis) did a great job on the boards today, gave them second opportunities, and with the Warriors, you can’t do that with everybody on their team who can shoot,” Bridges said. “They were making shots, they were cutting hard and they were getting second-chance points.”

Golden State Warriors will next take on the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night.
