It’s good but we are not satisfied – Anthony Davis after Lakers’ win against Memphis Grizzlies

    March 9, 2023

Lakers star Anthony Davis wants his team to carry the winning impetus after beating Memphis Grizzlies by 112-103 on Tuesday night. The Lakers have won seven out of their last seven matches and they are currently in ninth place in the Western Conference standings with a 32-34 record, which is their highest spot in the points table.

Davis led the charge against Grizzlies, scoring 30 points and 22 rebounds as he was at his best. Furthermore, Dennis Schroder also contributed 17 points and 12 assists in the win.

In fact, the Lakers were without the services of LeBron James, who continues to miss games due to a foot injury, but they were able to come up with a good show.

“It’s good, but we’re not satisfied,” Davis said about the Lakers’ highest spot in the standings since their 2-10 start to the season as quoted by AP. “We don’t want to stop there. We want to get greedy.”

Davis added that the team is gaining confidence after winning consistently.

“Guys out there are confident, and when you play basketball like that, it leads to victories,” Davis said.

On the other hand, Jaren Jackson scored 26 points and Tyus Jones had 16 for the Grizzlies, who were without Ja Morant.

“The margin for error is really small right now,” coach Taylor Jenkins said. “It’s our third rough patch of the year. We always find a way to respond.”

Meanwhile, Morant was banned for two games by the NBA after he took his gun in the strip club and flaunted it on social media.

“We’re in touch with him every single day,” Jenkins said. “He’s still a huge part of what we do. As I said the other day, we love him. We want what’s best for him. We support him. … It’s a healing process, so if everyone expects something to change overnight, we’ve got to (do) due diligence and be respectful in that. We’re talking about Ja being in a better place personally and also professionally, so to put a timetable on it is disrespectful, in my opinion.”

The Lakers will next face Toronto Raptors on Friday night.
