The Milwaukee Bucks have been tremendous with their trades as they roped in veteran forward PJ Tucker just ahead of the deadline. Tucker enjoyed three seasons at Rockets but now will look to contend for the Championship with the Bucks this season.
Just like their performance on the court, the Bucks have also done really well with their trades. They traded Eric Bledsoe and brought in Jrue Holiday to add more support to Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton. Now with PJ Tucker coming in the Bucks are surely one of the top contenders to win in the Eastern Conference.
The Bucks have been great in the regular season for the last three seasons but have struggled in the playoffs. They have lacked that supporting cast in the business end of the season and now with the reinforcements in they should be in good stead for the playoffs as well.
Therefore former NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins feels that the Bucks management have done their job in getting these important pieces around Giannis. But now the pressure is on the Greek to take the team forward.
Perkins recently made an appearance at ESPN’s The Jump. There he explained what Tucker adds to this team. He said, “Look, the Bucks organization promised Giannis that they were going to do everything in their power to help them get to the ultimate goal. And that’s winning the championship and acquiring PJ Tucker is a huge upgrade, in my opinion.”
“You talk about a guy that is relentless on the defensive end that could switch one to five strong ax an ox, does all the little things that doesn’t show up in the stat sheet,” Perkins went on adding.
“And by the way, the one thing that he’s going to bring to the table, he’s going to bring that big brother mentality, that big brother mentality where you know, you’re walking into arenas, or walking onto the court, and you have PJ Tucker who has your back.”
“So now he brings a different type of swagger to this organization. And I think it was a huge upgrade for the Milwaukee Bucks. And now they’re ready to compete with anybody in the Eastern Conference,” Perkins concluded emphasising the importance of the 35-year old.
With all the reinforcements in place and Giannis looking good in the regular season, the Bucks will be looking to go deep in the playoffs. A huge season awaits for Mike Budenholzer and his men.
