NBA Analyst Marcus Spears feels Steph Curry should be enough for the Warriors to win matches despite Green’s absence

The Golden State Warriors have been far from their best in their recent slump. The Dubs have been struggling to keep pace ever since Draymond Green got injured. Recently NBA Analyst Marcus Spears felt that it should not be an excuse as Steph Curry himself should be enough to win games for the Warriors.

The Dubs are on a five-game losing streak and their current form has been a big talking point, especially considering the way they started the season. While the Warriors are going through a rough patch, all of the five games that they lost in this stretch were winnable games. Their fourth-quarter woes have continued and that has been one of the main reasons for their decline.

Therefore NBA analyst Marcus Spears along with Kendrick Perkins touched on several topics about the Warriors in their ESPN podcast known as Swagu and Perk. He said, “Why should we wait on Draymond when you have Steph Curry in order to start winning games consistently? I understand what Draymond means to this team … I understand [his] intangibles. Draymond is an All-Star without really putting up All-Star numbers. So he got the respect of the league.”

Spears is a huge admirer of Green and feels that the big man has great all-round skills. The Warriors have missed his facilitation, defence, hustle and leadership. But feels that Curry should be enough for the Dubs to give other teams a tough time and even win most matches.

“I do have a problem with, ‘Oh well, when Draymond gets back, the Golden State Warriors gonna be where they should be.’ They got a top 75 player of all time on their team. They should be half as good as they are right now.”

The Warriors led the Wester Conference for some time early on in the season but then the Phoenix Suns took over. Now with their dipping form, the Memphis Grizzlies have also overtaken them as they drop down to the third position in the West. But there is a lot of pressure on Steve Kerr’s men as the fourth-placed Utah Jazz are closing in and even the Dallas Mavericks are not too far behind.

The Dubs will hope that they can solve their issues and with Green coming back they will again look to regain that lost form heading into the business end of the season.
