    Kevin Durant NBA

NBA analyst Stephen A Smith believes Kevin Durant is the best in the world when healthy amid the unrest at Brooklyn Nets

    June 24, 2022

Kevin Durant is one of the most lethal scorers in the NBA right now. He has several tricks up his sleeve and can unbelievably score from anywhere on the court. He is a phenom while he is in form as he can take out teams alone on his days. The forward in his 14 years in the league has won two NBA Championships and an MVP award.

However, his legacy is stained because of the Golden State Warriors stint which was his most successful phase as a NBA player as he paired up with star players and helped the Warriors achieve greatness. But many people feel that Durant needed Stephen Curry and the other stars to win Championships, something he has not managed to do while being on other teams in the league.

Currently there is a lot happening with the Brooklyn Nets as Kyrie Irving is rumoured to be heading out of the team and KD is also reportedly looking to weigh his options if Kyrie leaves. Amidst all the chaos, NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith shares how Durant’s talent is overlooked. Smith believes that Durantula is the best player on the planet, better than LeBron James and the Greek Freak when he is fully fit.

“KD’s definition of drama is tweeting people back,” ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith said. “He doesn’t get in trouble. He’s a model citizen, he’s a businessman, he’s an absolute superstar. I believe, when healthy, the best player on the planet. I’d take him ahead of LeBron (James), I’d take him ahead of ‘The Greek Freak,’ I’d take him ahead of everybody.”

However with the all the talent that he has at his disposal, the last three years have been pretty ordinary according to Durant standards. It has not been a smooth sailing ride in Brooklyn as they have already seen James Harden leave the franchise to pair up with Joel Embiid at the Philadelphia 76ers. Now with Kyrie throwing his tantrums, Smith feels Durant may now share his intentions to get out of this mess and eventually leave the Nets.

Kyrie Irving’s vaccination fiasco started the mess as he missed more than 50 matches and that created a massive imbalance in the team. Therefore they got swept in the first round by the Boston Celtics as they hardly had any chemistry.

Kevin Durant will be turning 34 this coming September and he is looking to win NBA Championships and given the problems that have occurred during his Nets’ stint it must be clear to him that this is not the right franchise for him to fulfill his dream. It will be interesting to see with whom the Nets end up heading into the next season.
