There is no question that Stephen curry is a special talent and one of the greatest basketball players to ever grace the NBA. The Golden State Warriors talisman has revolutionized the ball with his exceptional long-range shooting. Something that has become a norm in modern basketball.
Therefore when there are debates about the best offensive talent in the league, people always tend to put his name forward. While there is a lot of competition start with James Harden, Kevin Durant, a lot of them feel that it was Michael Jordan. Jordan was an offensive beast during his best days and therefore if you consider him to be the greatest offensive player in the NBA then you are not on the wrong track.
MJ won a record 10 scoring titles and enjoyed a great spell with the Chicago Bulls, winning the Championship for fun. He often averaged 30 points or even more and was a beast on the offence.
In recent times Curry and Durant stand out as pure offensive beasts while Harden is also close by. However, the game has evolved and nowadays it is more about three-point shooting than going up to the rim.
Over the years Curry has proven the world the kind of talent he is, mainly with his long-range shooting and offensive skills overall. He had a terrific last season despite his side being below par, Curry went on delivering top performance for the Warriors last season. He started right from where he left last season as he came up with a 45 point game-high in the win against the Los Angeles Clippers.
After his fabulous display, NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith showered praises on the Chef. Smith said, “I’m looking at the greatest shooter in the history of man that was number one. Number two, this guy finally belongs in the discussion with Michael Jordan as one of the greatest offensive players we’ve ever seen in an entirely different.”
The veteran analyst continued, “He’s the greatest shooter that we’ve ever seen and he has that kind of impact on the game….. This dude is just on another level I’ve never seen anything like him.”
In the last couple of seasons, the 2-time MVP has silenced all his doubters. Especially after a tough 2019-20 season. The Warriors are looking in good touch in this new season as they have won all three of their matches and are finally looking like a team to beat.
