“That hurts the Lakers a lot,” Draymond Green weighs on LeBron James’ absence and its implications on the Lakers season

The Los Angeles Lakers are on a roll starting from their trade deadline moves to picking up wins to make a playoffs push. Overall the franchise is looking to get back to the level they are more accustomed with. However they were struck by a major misfortune of losing their talisman LeBron James to a serious injury.

With the Lakers in 12th position in the Western Conference, this comes as a major blow for the Purple and Gold army. It can be a defining factor for the Lakers if they fail to make it to the playoffs. The impact of LeBron’s absence is also known to the other franchises as Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green also feels that it will hamper their progress this season unless Anthony Davis decides to take the onus on himself and starts being the leader he was always thought to be.

LeBron James suffered a foot injury when the Lakers were facing the Dallas Mavericks. NBA’s scoring King suffered a major knock and was immediately ruled out of the game and later it was told that he will be out of action for some time now.

Analyzing the situation of the Lakers and LeBron James, Draymond Green highlights how this can have major implications on their ongoing season. The Lakers are still hopeful of getting a playoff spot even if they fail to do that, a place in the play-in tournament will be their second option if they somehow miss out on a playoff spot.

“We just received news Bron is going to be out indefinitely for multiple games. That hurts the Lakers a lot. This is a team that’s starting to roll, that’s 4-1 in their last five games. … D’Lo has been out for the last two games. You take LeBron out, that two of your three ball handlers. You’d hope that LeBron is not out for long. You hope he’s back sooner rather than later, but to say, “I heard a pop in my foot,” and then have a noticeable limp after. And then they come out a day later and that you’re out indefinitely; that’s not a good sign,” Draymond Green shares on LeBron’s injury concerns and the implications on the Lakers season.

There are around 20 games left in the current season and with LeBorn James the Lakers would have been confident to make it to the playoffs. But now things are very challenging for them as it is reported that LeBron will miss at least the next seven crucial games and even after that he won’t be near his best physical condition so the other players will have to step up and make sure that they put Lakers in a good position when their talisman returns from injury.
