The Golden State Warriors are looking like the team to beat this season. They have maintained a very high level this season and with the injured players coming back to the fore things are looking good for the Warriors.
The success is a result of Steve Kerr’s clear cut explanation to each player of their designated role in the team. Even the rookies have played their part in this team as they are also aware of the role they are designated. Recently Warriors talisman Stephen Curry also highlighted how the rookies have been well guided by the senior players.
Curry explained how the rookies in their team are different from the other rookies. He pointed out how he always aspires to help the younger players and understand the need to develop them.
The Warriors are one of the most balanced teams because each and every player in the roster understand their capabilities and roles. The secret sauce for the youngsters is the special guidance that they get from Curry, Green and other senior players. However, Curry admits that things were not like this forever.
He points out how the championship factor changes everything for the rookies and it creates a togetherness among the seniors and the youngsters. Recently in an interview with The Athletic, Curry highlighted how youngsters of the current day and age have things different because they have players with Championship experience to guide them properly. Curry admits that it is an experience that he, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green did not have during their early years. Curry revealed that he does everything in his power to help youngsters and pass on the experience and knowledge to improve their focus towards the goal.
Curry explained: “When we were in our first, second, third year in the league — me, Klay and Draymond — we didn’t have this. We had some good vets, Jarrett Jack and some others that helped us become professionals, but no one that had won championships before to come in the locker next to us. Once our guys tap into that, it’s going to look different than some other rookies around the league.”
If the Warriors manages to go deep in the Championship this season, it won’t be only the Currys, Thompsons and Greens who will be playing a big role but also the youngsters who are representing the Dubs this season with aplomb.
