We want to continue to play good basketball – LeBron James after win against Washington Wizards

    April 5, 2024

Los Angeles Lakers talisman LeBron James said they want to continue playing good basketball at this crucial stage of the NBA. The Lakers registered a 125-120 win against Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. This was the Lakers’ eighth win in their last nine matches.

LeBron James scored 25 points and nine assists, and Rui Hachimura contributed 19 points for the Lakers. Furthermore, Anthony Davis added 19 of his 35 points in the first quarter and scored 18 rebounds. Davis was 10 of 17 from the field and made 15 free throws as he played at the top of his game.

The Lakers have been in prime form and they will aim to keep up the good show.

“We want to continue to play good basketball,” James said. “The postseason’s still kind of a ways away. … Postseason prep, all that other stuff is totally different from the regular season, so wherever we fall is where we fall.”

Moreover, D’Angelo Russell scored 18 points for the Lakers. Davis added they must keep playing at their best to keep up the good show.

“When we’re scoring at will, teams are going to try to get into a zone and try to slow us down,” Davis said. “We’ve got to be able to get to our zone offense to combat that.”

The Lakers head coach Darvin Ham wants his team to keep playing hard.

“I hate the term garbage time,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham said. “You’re playing in the NBA. There’s only so many spots, and you get a chance to play, even if it’s the last 50 seconds, go hard. Go hard or you stay home, pretty much.”

The Lakers will next host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night.
