Tyson Fury has, once again, confirmed that he would be fighting in London this December but against a yet-to-be-announced opponent. December is the month scheduled for him to meet with Deontay Wilder for the third time, with 19th as the set date, but Fury has revealed that he is no longer interested in the fight and would be moving on from that.

Fury has said that the upcoming fight would take place in London on December 5. This would be the champ’s first fight in the UK since 2018 and also his first in London since 2015. Fury took to social media to make his announcement; “I’d just like to announce I’m definitely fighting December the 5th in London. Opponent to be announced very, very soon. Just working on some opponents. Let you all know who it’s going to be shortly.”

The decision to move on from Wilder was prompted by Wilder’s camp, as revealed by Fury. The third fight was initially billed to hold in July but had to be moved to December 19 due to the coronavirus. But, according to Fury, Wilder’s camp tried to move the date to next year and he was not going to accept that. He had been training for the fight for months now and was not going to wait till next year before fighting.

Fury is considering many opponents for his December 5 fixture and even some have expressed interest to take on him. Michael Hunter was one of the first to express interest, but it is unlikely that he would be picked. Hunter is a very tough fighter and Fury would not want to take chances with someone like that, not when he has his WBC belt on the line. For Fury, his end goal is to face Joshua next year in a unification match, and he cannot afford to miss that opportunity by losing his belt.
