The latest information says Serie A Champions AC Milan want to quickly tie down Ismael Bennacer and Rafael Leao to new deals.
But the lads have been impressive for the Diavolo.
The Algerian has been in top form this season and is proving irreplaceable for the club.
It was gathered that both parties are preparing for a new round of contract talks.
The 25-year-old Algerian midfielder showed his value again when he proved to be a key figure in the Rossoneri’s 2-1 win over Salernitana. He completed 49 passes, won three tackles, and recovered 13 balls.
Being a deep-lying playmaker and quietly helping in build-up play, the Algerian is a key creative force in the squad.
La Gazzetta dello Sport says Milan are taking no chances that could see them lose Bennacer in the coming months. This is why they are keen to tie him down to a new deal, with his current contract set to expire in June 2024.
Expectedly, there will be a meeting with his agent Enzo Raiola later this month where both parties can try to reach an agreement.
After they met with Raiola last month, they offered a deal worth around €3.8m net per season plus add-ons.
However, they will need to increase the figures a little, as the Algerian is reportedly asking for a salary of €4.5m net, including add-ons.
For Leao, Milan will meet with his entourage next week to finally agree on the details of a new contract.
The Portuguese has 18 months left on his current deal.
Milan is working on new details, knowing that there is serious interest in their Portuguese forward. Some of the clubs monitoring his situation include Chelsea. The Blues could look to make an offer for him in the coming months.
TMW reports that Leao’s agent Ted Dimvula will arrive at Milan’s headquarters on Monday next week to discuss the details of a new contract.
He could be given a contract worth around €7m net per season with a release clause of about €120m.
