French striker Alexandre Lacazette came in as a second-half substitute for Arsenal as they got their second win a row with a 1-0 win against Brighton on Tuesday evening.
Arsenal had beaten Chelsea 3-1 at the weekend with the former Lyon striker on the scoresheet at the Emirates Stadium.
Brighten were winless in their last six games before the visit of the Gunners, and they had drawn four out of the six games in all competitions, losing twice.
The game looked like another draw after the first half ended 0-0 until Alexandre Lacazette was brought into the game in the second half for Gabriel Marinelli in the 66 minutes and scored almost immediately from Bukayo Saka’s assist.
The result puts the Gunners up to 13th position, and with 20 points, they are now six points behind Chelsea, who are in the sixth position on the log, effectively reviving their season.
Up next for the Gunners is West Brom at the Hawthorn next weekend.
On the other hand, Brighton is just two points above the relegation zone with 13 points are both Fulham who is in 17th position. They would be facing Wolves in their next game.
In other matches, Leeds United thrashed West Bromwich Albion 5-0 at the Hawthorns Stadium while at the Saint Mary’s, Southampton and Westham United played out a 0-0 draw.
Burnley at the Turf Moor beat Sheffield United 1-0 to condemn the Blades to continue searching for their first win of the season.
A late Marcus Rashford’s goal ensured that Manchester United Beat Wolves at Old Trafford.
The win takes the Red Devils to second position behind Liverpool on the log with 2 points behind Jurgen Klopp’s side.
On Wednesday, Tottenham will face Fulham at the White Hart Lane Stadium while Liverpool plays Newcastle.
