Having met the objective of remaining in the first division, Cadiz is now preparing to reinforce its squad for next season.
Cadiz boss Alvaro Cervera is very clear about the positions that he wants to reinforce. In an interview with 7TV Andalucia, Cervera mentioned that they will look for a center-back, a central midfielder, and a center forward. He also said: “We have to have better weapons, but that we know how they are handled and not have them without knowing which button to press to trigger them. That’s the idea”.
Cervera also mentioned that the club might go through a major restructuring. “You have to bring and lighten up. Both. Strengthening the team is not only bringing footballers, but also removing people who have not been important, that we do not see with the intention of being important either …”
Cadiz has already begun to scout the market and has its sights set on some players.
Bryan Gil
The Sevilla FC player is on loan at Eibar, where he has had a great season. The 20-year-old forward has appeared in 27 games and scored 4 goals.
With the demotion of Eibar, Gil would seek or return to Sevilla, a decision that depends on his coach Julen Lopetegi. Or he would seek to be loaned to another club in the top flight of La Liga.
If the second happens, Cadiz wants to be the first on the list to get Gil’s services.
Ruben Sobrino
Sobrino has enjoyed a great season in Cadiz, and for Cervera, he is one of the key players of the squad who contributes the most because of his versatility.
The player still has a one-year contract with Valencia. This week, his agents have met with the highest authority of Valencia Anil Murthy, to negotiate the future of the player.
Cadiz follows the negotiations very closely since Cervera would love for the player to stay one more season at Carranza.
