Arsenal fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to Leicester in the English Premier League on Sunday. Former three Lions striker Jamie Vardy scored the game’s only goal late into the second half.
The striker was only subbed on in the second half, and he combined with fellow substitute Cengiz Under in the 80th minute to head the ball into practically an empty net.
The goal is Vardy’s 109th Premier League goal moving past Peter Crouch and level with former Manchester United player Ryan Giggs.
Earlier in the game, French striker Alexander Lacazette found the back of the net with a header of his, but the goal was ruled out for offside by the referee.
His strike partner, Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has failed to score in the last five games, his first drought for the Gunners and the first since 2014 with Dortmund.
Arsenal dropped to 10th on the log with 9 points from six games played so far this season.
The win is Leicester City’s first at Arsenal since 1973 and pushes the Foxes into 4th on the log with 12 points and one point behind early leaders, Everton who lost for the first time this season on Sunday against Southampton.
Everton was beaten 2-0 at the Saint Mary’s Stadium on Sunday. James Ward-Prowse and Che Adams’ goals in the first half were enough to end the only remaining unbeaten run of the Premier League this season.
The visitors were reduced to ten men in the second half as Lucas Digne was shown the red card for a tackle on Kyle Walker-Peters.
In Sunday’s other result, Wolves late goal didn’t guarantee a win as a free-kick from Newcastle’s Jacob Murphy in the 89th minute shared the spoils between both sides at the Molineux Stadium. On Monday, Brighton will host West Brom while Tottenham will visit Burnley.
