Arsenal beat Manchester United 1-0 in the English Premier League on Sunday evening at Old Trafford.
It is the first time since 2006 that the gunners will be winning at Manchester United, and they went into the lead in the 69th minute when Paul Pogba brought down Hector Bellerin.
Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang stepped up and scored the resultant penalty to give Arsenal the win.
The win follows a 3-0 win in the UEFA Europa League against Dundalk on Thursday while United had previously beaten RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed delight in the display of the Arsenal side.
He said: “I’m delighted because we played with a lot of courage and big personality. They played a really tricky formation with four midfielders and two that constantly strain your back four. We could have scored twice in the first half and when we scored the goal we had to manage those moments.”
“There was high stress, it is different to any other ground. Individually you have to win the fights and step up to the occasion and the performance of every player today was top drawer.” Arteta added.
United have failed to win any of their opening four top-flight games at Old Trafford for the first time since 1972-73 – a campaign in which they finished 18th.
However, the Red Devils can return to winning ways on Wednesday in Turkey when they face Instabul Basaksehir in the UEFA Champions League.
It will be Molde facing Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday in the UEFA Europa League.
Meanwhile, Southampton beat Aston Villa 4-3 in a 7-goal thriller. James Ward-Prowse scored a brace while Danny Ings and Jannik Vestergaard added to the scoreline before Tyronne Mings, Ollie Watkins, and Jack Grealish made the scoreline more respectable.
Newcastle also beat Everton 2-1, while Tottenham Hotspur defeated Brighton Hove Albion 2-1, with Gareth Bale getting on the scoresheet for Spurs.
