Reports in Spanish media have revealed that Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero has been offered a 2-Year deal by La Liga side Barcelona.
The Argentine forward will leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season after making an announcement in that regard earlier this month with his deal expiring in the summer.
Reports say that the forward has been in negotiations with the Camp Nou side in the last few days.
Barcelona needs reinforcements in the forward line after the departure of Luis Suarez, and the Camp Nou side want to take advantage of the cheap cost of the player who will be free from June 1. Barcelona have been linked to Borussia Dortmund’s forward Erling Haaland, but may not be able to get his signature due to their finances.
Kun Aguero has several options from Juventus to several other Premier League sides.
The 32-year-old joined Manchester City from Athletico Madrid in 2011, making 272 appearances and scoring 181 goals.
Meanwhile, in his first stint in the La Liga with Athletico Madrid between 2006 to 2011, the striker made 175 appearances and scored 74 goals.
Barcelona have been dependent on Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann, and Martin Braithwaite for the goals this season, as they target a Spanish La Liga and Copa Del Rey double. Over the weekend, they defeated Atletico Bilbao 2-1 to clinch the Copa Del Rey.
They still are in the race for the La Liga, sitting in third with 65 points, five points from Madrid with one game in hand.
They’ve also suffered from injury problems with youngster Ansu Fati injured in the long-term, while Ousmane Dembele has not been pretty consistent enough.
Lionel Messi has been the team’s highest goal scorer with 23 goals and eight assists followed by Antoine Griezmann with eight goals and six assists and Ousmane Dembele having five goals and two assists in the La Liga. Barcelona will play Getafe and Villarreal next in the Liga
