It is no news that Germany International Serge Gnabry has been stalling over a new contract at the club. The winger, whose current deal is less than a year to expiration, has been locked in talks with renewal.
With the ups and downs facing the attacking department of the squad, the Bavarians have quickly taken a step by signing Senegalese star Sadio Mane.
However, the arrival of Mane hasn’t solved the issue at the frontline as there are still lots of work to do before they can boast of a healthy attack in the coming campaign.
One plan that the German area has to prioritise is getting Gnabry to sign a new deal. At first, the general thought was that Gnabry’s current deal was about to expire, and he will immediately put pen to paper.
Surprisingly, talks between the club and the player’s representatives have been left unattended throughout last season. Thankfully reverse is the case as talks have resumed once again and heading towards the right way.
According to the latest reports from Germany, talks regarding a new contract between Gnabry and Bayern have been encouraging after the 27-year-old allegedly rejected an initially improved contract.
Although Chelsea approached the winger and former side, Arsenal showed interest in bringing him. Back to his parent club, but it seems likely the plan for Gnabry is to stay at the Allianz Arena.
Bayer Munich Director Hasan Salihamidzic is equally hopeful of the player committing his long-term future as he revealed his optimism about Gnabry stay.
The German Champions have already lost Niklas Sule to Dortmund, and Polish striker Robert Lewandowski is eager to leave Barcelona, his preferred destination. There hasn’t been an agreement between both clubs as Bayern will only sell for the right price quoting the Catalan giants €50m.
Gnabry and several other Bayern senior squad members resumed training at the club’s training base last weekend as they prepared for the new season.
