Bayern’s new president Herbert Hainer has reportedly left the door open to Manchester City’s manager Pep Guardiola. The Club has been in search of a replacement for Niko Kovac, who was sacked some weeks ago after some poor performances and results. However, Hansi Flick has been put in charge of the first team as he occupies the
caretaker role.
Herbert Hainer, a replacement for Uli Höeness, who vacates the position of the Club’s president last week, has not turned down the opportunity of bringing City’s manager Pep Guardiola back to the Allianz Arena.
Guardiola, a well-trained tactician who has managed Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Currently with Premier League side Manchester City after he pipped Liverpool to win the Premier League last season. This season has seen him surprisingly nine points behind Liverpool, occupying fourth place behind Leicester City and Chelsea.
There have been widespread reports claiming that Guardiola is no more happy at the Etihad and has been in constant touch with the Bayern Munich hierarchy since his departure from Germany. And he has been regarded as one of the three possible replacement for Niko Kovac while Hansi Flick has been managing the affairs of three teams temporarily till the end of the season.
Clubs new President Hainer has expressed and praised Guardiola for his managerial expertise and competence. When asked about Guardiola, he said, ” Pep is a fantastic manager who still has a contract with City, and we [Bayern] respects that. We will have to wait and see until the board gives us their consent”. He said.
Generally speaking, the board actually wants the best manager for Bayern Munich, and both Hainer and Hasan Salihamidzic has decided that Hansi Flick will stay until December or beyond that.
Bayern Munich will look to stay on course as they continue to push in their attempt to take over proceedings in the Bundesliga as they travel to Fortuna Dusseldorf for their next match.
