Dortmund’s youngster Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has signed a contract extension at the club.
The Bundesliga giants made the deal public when they announced via their social media handles that the teenage sensation has penned a new deal that will see him remain at the club till 2025.
Speaking in an exclusive interview, the youngster revealed how excited he was to continue at the club.
“I am happy to continue my journey here at Dortmund. I am looking forward to getting more chances and showing the manager what I can do to help the team as well. I love Dortmund, and I am here to stay”. He added.
The 18- year old has impressed lately since his arrival as he played through the club’s youth ranks in the academy and was instrumental over the weekend in the win against Freiburg as he got involved in a late, dramatic comeback show by scoring a screamer from outside the box.
After scoring the much-needed equalizer, Bynoe-Gittens made an inspiring run into the 18-yard area and exchanged passes with Youssoufa Moukoko and then Julian Brandt to tuck home his second that put his side ahead.
Bynoe-Gittens’s arrival at Dortmund from Manchester City in the summer of 2020 was similar to that of Jadon Sancho. He was immediately drafted to the U-18s side, where he was able to display his raw talent by taking on opponents with style, finesse, agility, and pace on the ball, which he transformed in the UEFA Youth League with ease.
He made his Bundesliga first-team debut against Wolfsburg last campaign and has since caught the eye of senior officials at the club. This season’s preseason has also shaped him as he got more opportunities to train with the Dortmund first team and was even named on the bench for the Black and Yellow two games so far this new campaign.
It will be interesting to see the youngster get more game time with the first team to see him become one of the brightest talents at Dortmund.
