Norwegian international and Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard has been told to leave Real Madrid in search of more playing time.
Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, who is on loan at Premier League side Arsenal, advised Odegaard who has not found playing time easy to come by at Real Madrid this season.
Odegaard had an impressive loan stint at Spanish La Liga side, Real Sociedad, last season. However, having made just 7 La Liga and 2 UEFA Champions League appearances this season for Zidane’s side, the 22-year-old is seeking a loan move away from the Spanish capital again.
Ceballos, who is at Arenal on loan this season has encouraged the Norwegian international to move out on loan explaining that young players need to play regularly.
The 22-year-old has reportedly requested a loan move away from Madrid and Ceballos, himself on loan with the Gunners from Real Madrid, has encouraged the Norwegian to follow in his footsteps and seek more playing time elsewhere.
Ceballos is on his second loan stint with Arsenal this season and has made 24 appearances at the North London side.
“Young players need to play regularly. At Real Madrid, I needed to know that I would have equal opportunities. I was obsessed with playing again. I wasn’t getting minutes, but I realized it was best to work and reverse the situation and be important [with another club]. I can tell you what happened to me at Madrid. I don’t know exactly what will happen with Martin Odegaard, but it is obvious that any player who wants to succeed at Madrid is going to grab the opportunity he has.” Ceballos said.
Meanwhile, Arsenal has shown interest in bringing Martin Odegaard on loan to the Emirates on loan from Spain. However, reports say that the London club faces strong competition from one other Premier League side.
