Celtic close to Jota’s permanent signature

    January 11, 2022

According to reports, Cеltіс аrе getting closer than ever to the permanent signature of winger, Jota.

The Portuguese international who has been in tremendous form since joining on loan from parent club Benfica has not put a foot wrong as the Celtic board is looking to land him at Celtic Park permanently.

It’s no news that tаlkѕ have been going on between Cеltіс аnd Benfica for the past few weeks towards the end of December precisely, but reports now confirm both clubs have reached an agreement for an imminent permanent transfer.

One thing which might have helped Cеltіс towards this deal was the insertion of an option to buy which seems to have paid off in the long run massively.

There have been starting points for the two clubs, and it is believed that positively closing the deal is one of the biggest agendas between both parties.

Celtic might not want to initiate a one-time payment for Jota, and this means agreements need to be made for installments payments with a deadline for fees to be paid in full.

Also, considering the number of first-team appearances and performances made by the 22-year old so far this term, this would also make Celtic push for his permanent transfer as well.

Jota, however, is currently out with a hamstring injury sustained in the game at home against Hearts which has kept him out of the side, and unfortunately missed a training session on Friday with hopes of returning before the end of January.

With all these on the horizon and the recent capture of the Japanese trio, this has got to be the best transfer for Celtic and, most especially, Ange Postecoglou, who has been able to guide the club on the right path once again.

Jota has made a total of 11 appearances with five goals and four assists in the league this campaign.

Celtic resume league action as they welcome Hibernian to Celtic Park on Monday, January 17, 2022.
