Celtic in pole position to sign teenage forward

    June 16, 2020

Scottish Champions Celtic have put themselves in pole position to sign teenage forward Veron Parkes when he calls it quit at West Hamby the end of the month.

Local reports have it that the 18-year-old has made his decision to exit the club after he had tired down the club’s offer for a new deal to give rise to a professional contract.

The hammers have found it challenging to convince the youngster to make a turn on his decision as his mind is made up already to continue his development elsewhere during the summer.

Inside sources have confirmed that Celtic are now in pole position to sign Parkes as they plan to offer him chances in the first team as they have done with the likes of Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer, Jeremie Frimpong and the likes.

A notable example that Parkes representative could point at is the success in the development of Jeremie Frimpong. The former Manchester City academy defender has been phenomenal since his move to Parkhead.

Frimpong immediately walked into the starting XI following the moves he won the club young player award for his consistent performances with 12 starts in 22 appearances for the Hoops.

Parkes could consider all these notable achievements as the right destination for him to continue his development by signing for Neil Lennon’s side.

Celtic will, however, not get their man that’s easy as they will have to battle it out with other clubs from Europe to and their man.
