Chelsea interim manager Bruno Saltor frustrated at the club’s actions following Graham Potter’s dismissal

Chelsea sacked Graham Potter only after seven months he took office in West London. The English tactician replaced former manager Thomas Tuchel last September. However things did not change the way the management would have liked as they have spend big bucks on the players and want to see some results.

The Blues are currently in 11th position in the Premier League and there are high chances of them missing out on European football next season. With no improvement in results, Chelsea management decided to relieve Potter from his responsibilities. His assistant Bruno Saltor has been handed the temporary charge of the club as an interim manager.

Saltor who has been with Potter during his Brighton and Hove Albion days reveals that he is frustrated to see the changes happening at Stamford Bridge. He believes that every process requires time and in this difficult time at the club they should look forward to help the team get back on track. Hence the current focus is on facing Liverpool next in the Premier League.

“Chelsea, what they are trying to do is a long project as everyone knows. Graham was part of it, we were part of it and I think the vision of the club doesn’t change,” he told reporters.

He feels that thinking about the past won’t help anyone as he wants the focus to shift to the big clash against the Reds. “Yeah obviously there is frustration because processes take time. All of us know the situation here and it is what it is. We need to focus on Liverpool. Thinking about the past and what has happened before is not helping me now,” he concluded.

Despite bringing in many players and playing different formations, Potter never managed to get the best out of his players. While it was a new role, he knew he was on the line of fire when results were not coming.

A poor record in January and February were enough for the management to take a call. They are hopeful that they can bring in someone who can handle the pressure at Stamford Bridge and will take the club to greater heights. With the Champions Legaue quarterfinals clash against Real Madrid approaching, the Blues are keen to find a successor.

As per The Telegraph, they have shortlisted five names for interviews and one of them will take office. While Julian Nagelsmann still remains favourite to get the job, there are chance that Luis Enrique may get a nod because of his experience. Then there is Mauricio Pochettino with Premier League experience and lastly Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti’s name is also in that list.
