Norwich City manager Daniel Farke has said he’ll get behind his players after their 1-0 loss at fellow promotion chasers, Watford, in the championship game played on Saturday night.
Norwich City were on a five-match winning streak before the match against Watford, while the hosts have only lost once at home this season.
Ismaila Sarr got the game’s only goal in the 39th minute of the first half as Watford took the win against the leaders.
The results didn’t do Norwich City’s chance at the top of the log much danger as they keep on leading with four points ahead of second-placed Swansea. The defeat is Daniel Farke side’s second loss of the season.
Meanwhile, Watford is in championship playoffs places in the fifth position with 37 points from 21 games.
The manager admitted to the championship’s competitiveness and the need for consistency before securing the promotion back into the Premier League.
He was also delighted with his player’s performance in the game at the Vicarage road and lamented his team’s injury Woes.
“I have to calm myself down; I can’t be too strict because the lads have done fantastic so far, and we are still living with many injuries of key players. To show this consistency and quality of performance was great, But also I don’t want to let my levels and my standards drop and for that even after such a great run I don’t want us to be too proud of ourselves and enjoy ourselves too much.” Farke said.
Norwich City’s next set of matches is against QPR at the Carrow Road on the 29th of December, which will also mark their last game of 2020 before their first game of 2021 against Barnsley at the Carrow Road on the 2nd of January.
