Darwin Nunez comes off the bench to save 10-man Liverpool in dramatic EPL weekend

Uruguayan striker Darwin came from the bench to score two late goals, which gave Liverpool, who were reduced to 10 men, a 2-1 victory over Newcastle United.

It was a dramatic match day three in the Premier League all through between Friday and Sunday in the Premier League.

Sunday fixtures were preceded by a goal-laden Saturday where some big teams survived an initial scare, although Chelsea got their first victory of the season at home to Luton Town on Friday.

A brace from Raheem Sterling and another goal from Nicholas Jackson condemned Luton Town to their third consecutive loss this season and made them wait for their first points in their return to the Premier League, while Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino can heave a sigh of relief after seeing his team draw in their first two games.

On Saturday, Tottenham made light work of Bournemouth in a 2-0 victory away at the Vitality Stadium; James Maddison got his first Tottenham goal, while Spurs got a second goal in the second half through Dejan Kulusevski in the 63rd minute.

Arsenal were unable to defeat 10-man Fulham after a 2-to draw that saw them concede in the first minute of the game before going in front with two quick goals within five second-half minutes. Late drama at Emirates Stadium saw Calvin Bassey red-carded, but it still did not stop the Cottagers from stealing a point with a goal at the death.

Manchester United needed to climb from the lowest point after going 2-0 to Nottingham Forest within the first 15 minutes at Old Trafford, although they were able to rally back through goals from Casemiro, Erikson, and Bruno Fernandes.

Other results on Saturday saw Crystal Palace draw 1-1 against Brentford, while Everton lost 0-1 at home to Wolves. The final fixture of the day, so Brighton shocked at home in a 3-1 loss to West Ham United.

Aston Villa didn’t hold back at Turf Moor with a 3-1 win against Burnley before a frustrating 2-1 win for Manchester City at Sheffield United, with Erling Haaland and Rodri scoring for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Liverpool were reduced to 10 men in the first half away to Newcastle United, but despite an early lead for the Toons, Darwin Nunez clawed an unlikely victory for Liverpool with a late brace.
