Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani would love to swap sides and move to Camp Nou once his contract at the Old Trafford expires.
The Uruguayan striker signed a one-year contract extension with Manchester United last summer and will become a free agent in the summer of 2022. The 34-year old wishes to play for Barcelona before the end of his career and now seems to be the time and opportunity.
Barcelona’s financial situation doesn’t allow them seek big money moves and have also been left with Braithwaite and Memphis Depay as their major experienced strikers.
Summer acquisition, Sergio Aguero has not had an impact and could be retiring sooner rather than later after suffering a heart problem in November.
The former PSG forward would be a great addition, in terms of experience and depth, for Xavi’s side. For now, much has not been heard from Barcelona in regards of a move for Cavani but with Ansu Fati and Pedri facing fitness issues of late a deal for Cavani is a no brainer.
Pedri recently won the Kopa Trophy at the 2021 Balon d’Or where Barcelona feminine skipper Alexia Putellas won the female Balon d’Or while former Barcelona forward Lionel Messi won his seventh Balon d’Or title.
Pedri had a fantastic 2020/2021 season for Barcelona and Spain winning the Copa del Rey, getting to the Euro 2020 semifinals and winning the Olympics silver medal with the Barcelona, Spain national team and the Spain Olympics side.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are on the verge of crashing out of the Champions League to play in the UEFA Europa League after their 0-0 draw against Benfica in the last Champions League game.
They face Bayern Munich who have qualified for the knockout phase but anything but a win for Barcelona will see them knocked out has Sporting Lisbon face Dynamo Kiev.
