    Aaron Ramsdale

Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman believes Aaron Ramsdale will be back stronger after his errors against Liverpool

    March 23, 2022

After a sensational start to his Arsenal career goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale has struggled recently. He was at fault for one of the goals scored by Liverpool in their 2-0 win against the Gunners. The goal that he conceded led to a lot of criticism and Ramsdale also received a lot of slack on social media by fans.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has backed the young English custodian to bounce back from his errors against Liverpool and return to consistency again.

However, Seaman wants to see how the young custodian comes out of this issue. He also believes that Ramsdale may have that mental strength to shrug off the critics and return stronger than ever.

Sharing his thoughts on Sky Sports, Seaman highlighted the situation for the Arsenal goalkeeper. He said, “It’s disappointing that he has got his injury because the first goal against Liverpool was a mistake. I know that and he knows that. What was the most interesting thing, for me, about that, was how he was going to react afterwards. He’s not really had any knock-backs.”

The former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman who has been in between the sticks for 13 for Arsenal believes that Ramsdale will be back stronger. He feels that the Englishman will not let him get affected by the critics and will thrive under the pressure.

“But knowing Aaron, I know he will be brilliant. I know he won’t let that affect him. That’s how you judge good goalkeepers. You make a mistake in the first minutes, then can you concentrate for the rest of the game? That’s what sorts out the good goalkeepers from the rest,” Seaman added.

Aaron Ramsdale has been a revelation for Arsenal ever since joining the club from Sheffield United in 2021. The 23-year-old custodian proved everyone wrong and delivered some sensational performances replacing German goalkeeper Bernd Leno who was previously the No.1 at the Emirates.

However, Ramsdale is not fully fit as manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that the 23-year-old goalkeeper has suffered a hip injury during their clash against Liverpool. However, the severity of the injury is still not known.

The Gunners are all set to finish in the top four in the Premier League standings. But to maintain that position until the end of the season, they will need their best goalkeeper to feature in all of the remaining matches.
