Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville still feels Manchester City will win the Premier League over Arsenal

Manchester United legend Gary Neville is known for making some controversial comments and over the course of the season he has been proven wrong multiple times especially in recent cases regarding Arsenal. However Neville still believes that the Gunners will not win the Premier League as he feels that the inexperience will play a role and they will lose the plot as the destination comes closer and it will be Manchester City taking advantage of the situation to win the title once again.

Mikel Arteta’s men are five points clear of second placed Manchester City and also have a game in hand. They recently defeated Manchester United in a thriller and are looking very confident having added a couple of reinforcements during the January transfer window to provide the depth that is needed to win the title.

Arsenal still have to face Manchester City twice in the Premier League after their first meeting was postponed so still the ball is on their court and the results will hugely determine which team takes home the Premier League title this season.

Following Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Manchester United at the Emirates, Gary Neville shared his thoughts of City winning the league and Arsenal losing the plot right before the finishing line. The former defender feels City have the players and the experience of winning league titles and that will come in handy.

“I don’t see them going on to win the league. I think Manchester City will win the league because I just think that what they’ve got in them is a special run, Manchester City. I think that at a point in the season, Arsenal will lose one or two matches and City will be right on their shoulders and it will become very difficult for them,” Neville opined.

Neville also believes that his former team Manchester United will finish in second spot as arch rivals City will win the league. He feels Arsenal will lose their upbeat form and as a result both the Manchester outfits will leapfrog the Gunners to the finishing line.

While Neville does not feel Arsenal will keep up with the current momentum or they will win the trophy but he wants Mikel Arteta’s men to win the trophy more than rivals Manchester City. he feels it will also be great for the Premier League as City has dominated the league for the last few years and with only Liverpool posing the only threat, Arsenal’s win will be a great advert for the competition.

“I’d rather Arsenal win the league than Man City. I think it would be absolutely sensational for the Premier League. I think about watching the Premier League, we’ve seen City sweep up, apart from Liverpool, over the past five years. To think [the Gunners] could come and win it, it adds to our league, it makes our league great. I’d love Man United to win it, but I don’t think that’s going to happen this season,’ Neville concluded.

Arsenal will face Manchester City in their upcoming FA Cup fourth round fixture before taking on Pep Guardiola’s men in the Premier League in February and April.
