Chelsea boss Frank Lampard said he was frustrated his side could not put away Leicester City on Sunday as the Blues boss goes in search of his first win at the club.
The west London outfit suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United on the opening day of the season, before losing the UEFA Super Cup to Liverpool last week.
With the Blues squandering a 1-0 lead at home to draw 1-1 with the Foxes at the weekend, Lampard is the first Chelsea manager since Rafael Benitez not to win any of his first three games in charge.
Lampard feels like he will be given time to get things right at Stamford Bridge as the transfer embargo over the summer has hampered their start to the campaign.
“There were frustrations,” he said. “If there were frustrations in the crowd, there were frustrations in the team and on the bench. “We’re working in one way here and we want to do well. We know that in the circumstances that there are some tough elements this year.
“We couldn’t bring players in, I couldn’t as a new manager bring any players to help push the way I’m thinking, we lost Eden (Hazard) and he was so pivotal to this club. “I think everyone’s understanding of that and we will be patient, but again I don’t want to use that as the huge factor.”
Chelsea head to Norwich on Friday night with the Blues 1.88 to win, 3.55 to draw and the hosts quoted 3.90.
