Gabriel Jesus was one of the main reinforcements that arrived at Arsenal. The London club paid $45 million to Manchester City for the Brazilian striker to lead their attack.
In a short time Gabriel Jesus became a key piece of the club and a fan favorite due to his great scoring ability.
The Brazilian was one of the main players responsible for the good performance of the club in the first half of the season.
His good moment in 2022 earned him a call-up to the Brazilian national team and he participated in the World Cup in Qatar, where he suffered an injury that has kept him away from the field since the end of last year.
But Gunners boss Mikerl Arteta has given good news and provided an update on the player’s status.
“He’s not far now. I don’t want to give a timeline but he’s doing certain things with the team and certain things outside the team,” Arteta said at his pre-match press conference on Friday.
“He’s not very close but he’s not very far. The doctors are feeling confident with how he’s evolving.
“It’s been pretty straightforward. At the beginning we were pretty concerned and thankfully it wasn’t that bad. Gabi has been through that before, his mentality is incredible and the team has done a really good job with him.”
Arteta added: “Probably that wouldn’t be fair on him because when he was in the team he was phenomenal. But when he’s back like everybody else he’ll need to earn his place in the team.”
The fans are excited about the return of Gabriel Jesus and the boost that he can give to the already good moment that the club is having.
