Fulham defender, Michael Hector, has lauded the squad for their professionalism in executing the game against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
Scott Parker’s men got the maximum points away from home with fellow defender commending the professional display of the team against Blackburn Rovers that has an excellent record at home this season.
From the look of the game, Fulham’s patient performance gave them the needed points with another solid defense display that made them leave with a clean sheet courtesy of Aleksandar Mitrović’s 20th goal of the season.
The Serb had returned to action recently after being out of action for about two weeks injured.
Speaking further, Hector, who was nominated for the player of the month in the league, said the pitch condition at the Ewood Park wasn’t the one made for their style of sleek play, but Fulham showed that they could dig out a win by waiting for their chance.
He added that with the Serbian striker upfront, there will be a chance to score a goal, and Mitrovic didn’t disappoint when he was presented with the opportunity to nick the chance.
The former Chelsea player, who officially played his first game for the Whites at the beginning of the year, said they defended really well to get the win, which he described as nice.
With Leeds losing 2-0 at Nottingham Forest, Fulham is now on the same pint with Marcelo Bielsa’s men with goals difference separating them. With Fulham moving to the third spot, Nottingham Forest closed an eleven point gap against Leeds, reducing it to one point in their last for games.
With the latest development, it is only goal difference that is keeping the Whites out of the automatic promotion places.
Hector, who is not carried away by the feat, noted that everyone has their dip in the championship as well as their run. He, therefore, stated that all the team needs to do is to keep amassing the points by concentrating on their games, which he said is very important in the division.
He added that they would have to win their own games while the rest take care of themselves, noting that there are so many games left in the Championship. This means that some things can have four wins in a row jump three or four places on the log.
Describing the top fight as tight at the moment, he said Bristol City could have won and gone above the team.
With Millwall next on their plate, the center back said with their current form; they need to focus on the next game and see where the team will be in May.
