Norwich City boss Daniel Farke has made Ibrahim Amadou his fifth signing of the summer. The 26-year-old French midfielder arrives at Carrow Road on a season-long loan switch from Sevilla.
The Canaries have the option to buy Amadou next summer, with reports suggesting a club-record transfer fee of approximately £9million has already been agreed between the two clubs – if Norwich avoid relegation this season.
Amadou said: “I am happy to play for Norwich because I know they have just got promoted to the Premier League with a lot of points in the Championship. It’s a new challenge for me and I would like to discover more about the Premier League. “I will have to show what I can do and make a good impression.”
Amadou moved to Sevilla from Lille three years ago and made 32 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga side last season, although only 18 were starts. He is expected to offer competition to Alex Tettey for a place in the Norwich midfield.
Tettey, who is currently struggling with a calf problem which has prevented the 33-year-old from taking part in pre-season, is set to be out of contract at the end of the season.
Farke has already signed Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts and Schalke goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann on loan this summer while Switzerland striker Josip Drmic has arrived on a free transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach and right-back Sam Byram was brought in from West Ham United for £750,000.
Norwich, 1.83 to be relegated this season, can be backed at 19.00 to beat Liverpool at Anfield on Friday.
