Inter Milan cools down interest in Dybala

    July 6, 2022

According to the latest transfer rumours, Inter Milan are longer interested in former Juventus player Paulo Dybala anymore.

This was confirmed by Inter director Beppe Marotta, who admitted that the Nerazzurri have cooled their interest in La Joya.

According to him, all the club hopes is that the manager, Simone Inzaghi remains at the club for many years.

The former Lazio coach had led them to a second-place finish behind city and title rival, AC Milan.

Speaking during a press conference at Appiano Gentile ahead of the team’s pre-season, which begins today, Marotta revealed that the club representative met the player’s agent several weeks ago, but there haven’t been developments.

Now that Romelu Lukaku has returned to the club, all seems to have died down about Dybala being linked to the club.

Noting that Dybala is one of the many players available on a free transfer, Marotta said it proves that football is changing and more courage is needed at a youth level.

He said it is an opportunity for Inter to sign the Argentine, but Inter are ok in attack with valuable players who the coach will need to manage in the best way.

Marotta has a solid bond with Dybala. He had signed the winger at Juventus in 2015 for €40m.

The Argentinean striker is still linked with Napoli, Milan, and the newly-promoted Serie A club Monza.

The former Juventus director reflected on last season, saying it was a bitter-sweet experience as Inter added two more trophies to their cabinet but lost the league title.

But he is excited about the new contract signed by the manager, saying it is the result of a great rapport that have been built from last year after some turbulences in the summer.

He added that the renewal was natural because Inzaghi proved to be up to the task.

He further lauded the manager, saying he has the skills to remain with Inter for a long time and be one of the best coaches.

Inzaghi is now contracted to Inter until 2024.
