Inter Milan have secured passage into the Champions League Round of 16 after sweeping Viktoria Plzen aside 4-0.
The victory means Barcelona can only finish third in the group. They are therefore relegated to the second-tier tournament- Europa League.
Inter got the maximum points with goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Edin Dzeko brace, and Romelu Lukaku on his comeback.
This is a good boss for Lukakau, who has been on the treatment table for the past two months after a serious thigh strain.
Having failed to secure a single point from the games played so far in the group, Viktoria Plzen had nothing to play for, while Inter aimed to secure their place in the next round.
Having been given a red against Barcelona last time, Inter manager Simone Inzaghi had to watch from the stands.
Inter started brightly as Francesco Acerbi blasted over from a distance.
The goalkeeper was called into action when he made a desperate double save at the near post on Federico Dimarco and then Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Inter continued knocking on the door for the opening goals as Edin Dzeko fired wide from six yards on a Dimarco cross from the left.
Mkhitaryan gave the host the lead through a free header. After Alessandro Bastoni completed a give-and-go with Dimarco, his left floated in a cross, which Dzeko ducked out of the way, allowing the Armenian to score.
The Bosnian would get his goal soon after as he tapped in from four yards. He benefited from a great move that saw Dimarco control an inspired Nicolò Barella cross-field pass, crossing with his second touch for the goal.
Mkhitaryan was denied a brace by the upright as his ferocious long-range strike thumped the post.
After Inter we’re denied the third by a reaction save, Dzeko completed his brace, sweeping in first-time into the near bottom corner from 10 yards after a general Lautaro Martinez assist.
Lukaku only needs 10 minutes to score a goal. He did a little one-two with Joaquin Correa, shrugged off defenders, and smashed in from close range.
