Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has stated that he wants his team to finish the season well even as the Cherries enter the last nine games of the season, which will start with Tuesday’s visit to Crystal Palace.
The Cherries welcome Crystal Palace to the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday as they hope to extend their unbeaten run to five games and improve their standings on the table.
Iraola’s side sits in 13th position, just two points behind tenth-placed Chelsea, and they will be hoping for a similar result compared to the 2-0 victory at Selhurst Park earlier in the season.
The manager thinks 38 points is a good amount, but he doesn’t want to stop there as he believes that the Cherries need more points and more wins to finish as high as possible.
“We have to finish this season well, see where the standings put us. And I think after this week, we have seven more games. So we want to arrive at the end with things to play for, try to catch teams, and try to improve our position. I will try to keep this level of demand, and I want to finish the season this way. It’s true that we have a difficult part, I will say, of the season, schedule-wise. Especially the away games are really difficult. But we have to try to give our best.” Iraola said.
Bournemouth secured a 2-1 win over Everton over the weekend, while Dominic Solanke has scored sixteen goals to propel the team to Premier League safety.
Bournemouth versus Crystal Palace is one of the three Premier League fixtures available on Tuesday as Nottingham Forest hosts Fulham, Newcastle plays Everton, Wolves travel to Burnley, and there is also a London derby as West Ham United tackles Tottenham.
