Spanish midfielder Isco has been forced to leave Sevilla after his contract was terminated on Wednesday, just four months after he joined the club.
The Spanish midfielder signed from Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer had signed a two-year contract. However, the 30-year-old’s time at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium was short-lived shortly after he had a confrontation with the club’s hierarchy.
However, a short statement by Sevilla announced the departure of a man that has played 19 games for the La Liga side. However, the former Spanish international isn’t short on attracting a new club, as Juventus and Napoli are monitoring his situation.
There are also possibilities of him joining former manager Julien Lopetegui at Premier League side Wolves or Arsenal, who have been mentioned in the transfer rumours involving the player. At the same time, a move to Juventus is very much possible.
Isco made a big move to Real Madrid in 2013 from Malaga, scoring 53 goals in 353 games for Real Madrid, although his final season at the Santiago Bernabeu brought forth just 17 appearances and was also on the bench unused as Real beat Liverpool in the last season’s UEFA Champions League final.
When they signed him in August, he was well welcomed by Sevilla fans, but Julien Lopetegui was sacked months later after a poor start to the La Liga season.
Meanwhile, Copa Del Rey matches were played on Wednesday, and Sevilla were in action against Torremolinos, and the La Liga side got an easy 3-0 win over the lower league side.
An early strike from Carlos Alvarez in the first half, followed by an own goal, set Sevilla up for a comfortable move to the next round of the competition before Joan Jordan put the icing on the cake in stoppage time.
Real Sociedad also got an entertaining 5-0 win against CD Coria.
